Self Talk

I don't know about you, but I am my own worse critic.

"I'm so stupid"

"I can't do anything right"

"I'm such a disappointment"

It is a habit I am not proud of, that I work daily to break.

Starting your day off with a plethora of negative thoughts will set up a domino effect throughout your day.

Try positive affirmations, also known as positive self-talk. Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-damaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes. Affirmations have been used to successfully treat people with low self-esteem, depression, and other mental health conditions.

You can use affirmations in any situation where you'd like to see a positive change take place in your life.

These might include times when you want to:

  • Raise your confidence

  • Control negative feelings such as frustration, anger, or impatience.

  • Improve your self-esteem.

  • Finish projects you've started.

  • Improve your productivity.

Starting tomorrow, I want you to look in your mirror and pick three things from this list that ring true to you. Repeat daily for a week then come back and tell me how you feel!

I’m courageous and stand up for myself.

I will succeed today.

I deserve to have joy in my life.

I’m worthy of love.

I approve of myself and love myself deeply.

I’m more at ease every day.

I’m calm, happy, and content.

My life is a gift and I appreciate everything I have.

I’ll surround myself with positive people who will help bring out the best in me.
